The main goal of the Informatics study programme is to prepare highly-qualified IT specialists, who can carry out independent research work, or continue on to doctoral studies in Lithuanian and foreign universities. Our graduates may also develop software development and maintenance projects, and can successfully compete for IT jobs in both Lithuanian and foreign companies.

Why choose this programme?

  • Modern computer- and software-based systems tend to become more complex and interconnected while being deployed in various, very different application areas. To design, develop and apply such systems, the graduates from our programme need to acquire a broad set of diverse competencies and skills. The aim of the Informatics programme is to provide students with a combination of the necessary knowledge and skills including, in particular, system modelling and design, data analytics and artificial intelligence, cloud computing, etc.

What comes after?

  • After completing the Informatics study programme, a graduate will have the ability to understand the involved processes of diverse computerised application areas and to create their informational models, as well as having acquired sufficient professional competencies and knowledge for performing complex tasks in relation to the design and development of computer systems.
  • Informatics graduates can be employed as analysts, designers and programmers in large projects at private companies and/or research institutions, and are capable of mastering new methods and technologies independently, as well as applying them in practice.
