Entry qualification | High school / secondary education (or higher) N. B. for non-EU/EFTA applicants: the gap since your completed secondary degree should not exceed five years. If your qualification meets the requirements, you will receive an invitation for a motivational interview. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Translation is considered to be official when it is bound together with the certified true copy of the original document and is confirmed by the translator’s signature. Language requirements | English German The following language certificates are accepted for study programmes taught in another than English foreign language: IELTS Academic 4.5+, TOEFL iBT 32+, Cambridge English exam 140+, Pearson PTE Academic 43+, LanguageCert IESOL B1, Duolingo English Test 65+ or another language proficiency certificate equivalent to B1 CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). If you are a native speaker and/or if the English language was the medium of instruction in your previous studies, you will be exempt from providing an English language test score. The following language certificates are accepted for study programmes taught in German: TestDaF, Goethe-Zertifikat B1, Zertifikat Deutsch telc B1, das Deutsche Sprachdiplom DSD1 or other German proficiency document confirming that you have achieved B1 level according to CEFR. Overview
“The programme of Deutsche Philologie is open to candidates already proficient in German. Beginner and advanced students study in two separate groups for the first 3 semesters, from the 4th semester on, the beginners attend the same courses as advanced students.
The objective
The programme offers the students solid written and spoken communication skills for workplace success in German (C1–C2), fundamentals in German linguistics, literature, and culture of the German-speaking countries. The curriculum includes a diverse range of course units designed to help students to develop their language skills, advanced writing, speaking and research skills needed to become successful. The students acquire a range of soft skills by cultivating their analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving and rhetorical skills, to gain knowledge of culture and history, which will allow them to understand the complex modern world today.”
