Overview

The programme of Spanish Philology is open to complete beginners. No Spanish proficiency is required.
The programme offers the students solid written and spoken communication skills for workplace success in Spanish (C1), fundamentals in Spanish linguistics, literature, and culture of the Spanish-speaking countries. The curriculum includes a diverse range of course units designed to help students to develop their language skills, advanced writing, speaking and research skills needed to become successful. The students acquire a range of soft skills by cultivating their analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving and rhetorical skills, to gain knowledge of culture and history, which will allow them to understand the complex modern world today.

Our graduates will be able to find employment in private and public sector, e.g., in teaching, translation, tourism, logistics, public relations, research, content creating, marketing, working for foreign embassies, government and European Union institutions etc. The acquired skills will help the graduates take leading positions, build careers, and find innovative approaches across industries.
Our graduates can also work as private tutors or secondary school teachers, provided they hold a teacher’s professional qualification acquired after completing a Minor or a post-diploma study programme in subject pedagogy (teaching Spanish as a foreign language).
