Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) No less than 20 ECTS credits in the fields of microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and optional courses in the fields of economics. If your qualification and motivation match the programme, you will receive an invitation for an interview with the Admissions Committee. Important: additional country-specific requirements are set only for the following countries which you can find HERE (STEP 2). The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Lithuanian. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Translation is considered to be official when it is bound together with the certified true copy of the original document and is confirmed by the translator’s signature. Overview
The aim of this master study programme is to train and to educate qualified and wide-ranging economists who can:
• forecast, plan and manage economic processes;
• propose different measures of economic policy and to evaluate its alternatives;
• objectively identify the causes of various economic processes and their possible consequences.
We seek to educate and to raise future leaders – creative and independent personalities who are able to come up with new ideas and implement them.
Career opportunities
The training of your analytical skills will allow you to work in the fields of economic and financial data analysis, in public and in private sectors, in large corporations that deal with large data flows and use the data for the decision making, in ministries, departments, other governmental and international bodies that form or implement monetary, fiscal or tax policy, in other words everywhere where economic insights and decisions are needed and analytical thinking is required.
Access to further studies
Vilnius University gives opportunities for students with high academic results to continue their education in PhD studies, which are available in English language. The best of our graduates might be offered employment at the university.
